About MQG
The Mississauga Quilters’ Guild is a not for profit community organization established in 1978. The Guild’s activities are organized and managed by volunteers from the membership. We currently have approximately 130 members.
The goal of the Mississauga Quilters’ Guild is to promote the appreciation of quilting among its members and the community through the sharing of experiences, fellowship and education.
Members have the opportunity to learn and grow by attending monthly meetings, participating in monthly workshops, putting together quilt items for Community Outreach, and volunteering on the Executive or other functions.
The Guild encourages outreach activities by way of generous donations of quilts and related items to organizations and people in Mississauga who are in need, including placemats for Meals on Wheels at Christmas, quilts for women’s shelters and distressed youth throughout the year.
The Guild provides members with the opportunity to showcase their works via a bi-annual Quilt Show. Our next show will take place in the spring of 2013. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
Our Guild newsletter, Pieceful Pastimes, is published from September to June every year, a week prior to Guild meetings.
The Mississauga Quilters’ Guild has an extensive library of quilting-related books and magazines available for check-out by members for a month at a time. Our librarians are always on the lookout for wonderful new books and gladly consider member suggestions. Please click on the library link to access the resources list.
